SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

I have developed a number of PHP/MySQL based web applications and tools as well as contributing to others.

– The online reservation system is used to take bookings for a Christmas event. This system included an administration control panel which allowed staff to generate reports, manage customer details, accept payments, and issue e-tickets (santascastle.ie).

– The CRM system is used to manage calls, emails, quotes, and orders from existing and potential customers.

– eChipmunk student management system – I extended and improved system features while working with Lurtel Ltd in Galway.

– XSellco e-commerce system – Implemented new UI features for XSellco Software’s e-commerce product

– Ultimate Rugby.com sports news and alerts website – Extended the UltimateRugby.com website.

– Web-based clinical interface – A web interface developed as part of the Kiduku research project which allowed clinical staff to visualise multi-modal sensor data. Developed using PHP (CakePHP)/MySQL/HTML5/CSS3/JQuery/Highcharts/Google Charts.

– Kit Manager application – A web application allowing operators to create users, assign and unassign kits to and from users, and view status of currently assigned kits to ensure health data was being transferred from the sensors. Developed using PHP (CodeIgniter)/MySQL/HTML5/CSS3/Javascript.

– Android apps – I have contributed to a number of Android applications within the scope of the Kiduku research project.

– Other personal open source projects are on Github.

WEBSITE DESIGN

I have developed websites for individuals, businesses, schools, charities, events, and tourist attractions. Some of my recent work includes:

E-COMMERCE / ONLINE MARKETING

I have worked extensively with major e-commerce platforms such as Zen Cart, Open Cart, Prestashop, Cube Cart, and Magento. This includes payment gateway integration with Paypal and Realex. I am also very experienced in online promotion, SEO, and social media marketing.

CONSULTANCY

I have worked extensively with open source and professional applications. My experience in technical support, system administration, and software development allows me to offer support and advice in the following areas:

          • Computer / network setup and maintenance
          • Installation of Industry standard, professional applications both locally and in the cloud (SaaS)

Some examples of the types of professional applications that I will install and configure are email server solutions, CRM applications, and database solutions.
