Cyberbullying – what can I do?
If we are being bullied, we can find it difficult to cope. Although it can seem like we are alone, often we are not. Help and support can be found.
Bullying has existed for years, but more recently it has taken on a new form called Cyberbullying. This is bullying using modern technology such as websites, social media, instant messaging, text messages etc. Traditional bullying is often confined to a single geographic location e.g. the playground, classroom, workplace. Cyberbully can often reach a global audience which can result in a greater, longer lasting effect. Both forms of bullying can present similar difficulties. This means that the solutions that have worked for traditional forms of bullying can also work for Cyberbullying.
