Summer Gigs

Summer can be a great time to attend open air concerts especially if the sun shines. I find it this is a very enjoyable way to unwind and relax. Just sitting on the grass, surrounded by friends, listening to good music and sipping on a cold beer.

I was at the Bon Jovi concert in Slane, Co. Meath at the weekend (my first time in Slane for 10 years) and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was able to turn a one day concert into a wonderful weekend away with my fiancee where we could also catch up with some friends on the day of the concert.

Bon Jovi played a selection of their hits from the past 30 years. They were supported by Ham Sandwich, Bressie, and the Coronas. Bressie called for collective birthday wishes for the late Donal Walsh who advocated against suicide before he passed away.

After a great weekend away, things are back to normal until the next summer gig that I will attend, which will be Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen in Thomond Park in Limerick next month.

Rock on!
